  Individual farmers load their cotton harvest onto trucks to be sold collectively. Prior to loading, each farmer’s harvest is weighed for a fair share of the profit. Despite the positive cooperation between Burkina Faso’s two million cotton farmers, subsidised production in the west forces their income below a dollar a day.
